Born in 1966, Kevin spent two years at Art College studying Technical Illustration, specializing in human form. He then spent another two years studying Advertising Graphics. In 1986, he completed his studies, only to find himself in the midst of one of the UK’s worst industrial disputes between the National Union of Miners and the government. Living in a mining village at the time, Kevin struggled to find work and eventually started working in his family’s building firm.
A few years later, Kevin returned to college to study Information Technology. He wanted to learn how to use computers to create graphics. However, the industry was in its infancy, and opportunities were scarce. Despite this, Kevin had a successful and financially rewarding career in I.T., ultimately working as a principal consultant for several well-known international brands.
With plans to retire early and focus on his art, Kevin’s world was turned upside down in 2005 by an acrimonious divorce. In the years that followed, Kevin worked as a photographer facing many challenges as a single parent. But art has always been at the core of who he is. He loves studying old and new techniques, both traditional and digital, and is constantly striving to learn from the old masters and apply their methods and teachings in his own artwork.
